This was an important game at the foot of the table, but it was over shadowed by an absolutely disgraceful scene.
Totally unprovoked a Ladybridge FC player assaulted an Egerton Player who now may have to visit hospital to make sure his injuries aren't going to cause him future problems. At times against certain teams this wouldn't be unexpected maybe, but against a Football Club with the pedigree of Ladybridge Football Club, with qualified coaches, a facility paid for by grants and Sport England support, who publicly pride themselves on supporting grass roots football and the ethos of the game, it's unacceptable. To make matters worse, this player was not even eligible for the game, and the club at first, wouldn't divulge his name. What is Sunday league football coming to when community football clubs like Ladybridge break the rules and play thugs like this, god help the rest of the teams. This matter will be taken further by the league and by laws outside the game. What a disgrace, an incident that tarnishes the whole Bolton and District Sunday League. Well done Ladybridge FC!

Can anyone who didn't get a medal after the Memorial Game let us know. We have 10 more medals and want to make sure everyone gets one.

Y I Man, i had a wee pet who got blinded down at the grove like, we used to call him PJ like. Going paintballing would be like carrying coals to Newcastle!

Not sure that you should be encouraging paintballing, particularly ahead of an important football game on Sunday. Paintballing is very dangerous and statistics show that 15 people each year are killed whilst paintballing, whilst more than 120 are left with permanent disabilities, mostly blindness. If you do happen to die on Saturday, whilst paintballing, don't come running to me.

If anyone would like to go paintballing this Saturday, Gaz Lormer has arranged a trip. There will be 20+ people involved. It's 9.30 til 4.30pm at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel Estate off the M65 and costs£39 for the full day including 500 paintballs.
please contact Gaz on 07879401232 if you want to go or need more details

Jason 08/05/2008 08:20:43

Can't make training...still nursing a dead leg from last week. Unfortunately I can't make Sunday either to cheer you guys on or otherwise. Good luck...I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
